Jo\u00e3o Carlos da Silva J\u00fanior was born in Alagoas, in 1988. <\/p>\n\n

Since childhood, Jo\u00e3o Carlos grew up in an environment conducive to art, surrounded and encouraged by the ceramic sculptures produced by his father. He used modeling to make his own toys, each in his own way. <\/p>\n\n

As the son of Master Craftsman Jo\u00e3o das Alagoas, he continued to learn and accompany his father on his artistic journey, and his intimacy with clay grew to the point where he began to use it as a form of expression and to portray those he admired: the man of the countryside and the distinctive features of their faces. He developed an affection and perfected his gift for reproducing popular culture and everyday life through his clay sculptures, shaping the thin human figure with a tired posture of the people he lived among, ordinary people in their daily life and work.<\/p>\n\n

In his adolescence, he created all kinds of artwork, and his desire to improve his skills grew with each completed work. His vision goes beyond the image itself and is expressed through gestures that convey a message: vendors, fishermen, men and women returning from the fields in the evening, the seller of “quebra-queixo” candy, as well as nature and animals are some of the subjects that inspire his creations. <\/p>\n\n

Nowadays, in addition to creating ceramic sculptures, he also works with wooden sculptures, canvas paintings, and artistic drawings. He is a master in his own ceramic studio, Casa Art\u00edfice, in Macei\u00f3\/Alagoas, where he teaches classes to children, youth, and adults, passing on the teachings he received from his father to others.<\/p>\n
