Working with wood is in Juli\u00e3o family since the 60’s.<\/p>\n\n

It all started around 1960, with Ant\u00f4nio Juli\u00e3o, Juliana’s grandfather, who made wooden harness heads for horse saddles, which he sold in the city of Prados, state of Minas Gerais. His children learned to love wood and using it as a base, they developed their artistic expression. Since childhood, they built toys to have fun together. Itamar was one of Ant\u00f4nio’s sons and little by little he experimented creating on wood. The result of his work was soon noticed. Itamar, became an example and a reference for the entire region and taught many families to perform creative work in wood. Juliana grew up in this environment and also developed her skills.<\/p>\n\n

Her mother, Vicentina, encourages her art and is also active as an artist and sculptor.<\/p>\n\n

Nature and animals are the great inspiration. Juliana loves giving life to wood, transforming it and she feels happy, for revealing in each piece a part of her history. She works with delicacy, but also with intensity, leaving her mark on popular art in Brazil.<\/p>\n
