Born in Juazeiro do Norte, Francisco Graciano Cardoso has lived since childhood in the rural area of the neighboring municipality of Missão Velha. As the years went by, with his marriage and the arrival of his children, Francisco began to see in art the possibility of improving living conditions. His work shows his preference for elements of nature, where animals occupy a prominent place in his creations and bright colors make up the often fantastical universe of his works. Today he makes a living from his art, but it has been an arduous path to get here. He worked in the fields and quarries. In addition to carving in wood, he takes the same theme of animals and the backwoods to the canvas.
